LegalSeek Terms of Service - Master Global Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between (“User”) and LegalSeek governing (“User”) access and use of the LegalSeek platform, including all associated software, services, websites, mobile applications, artificial intelligence tools, and related features.

 

LegalSeek operates internationally and provides AI based technology services to users across multiple jurisdictions. By accessing or using the platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

 

**If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the platform**

 

  1. Important Terms (Definitions)

For the purposes of these Terms of Service, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below.

1.1.“LegalSeek”, “we”, “us”, or “our”: refers to the entity operating the LegalSeek platform, including its affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers.

1.2.“Platform”: means the LegalSeek website, mobile applications, software systems, artificial intelligence systems, APIs, databases, and all related services, features, and functionalities provided by LegalSeek.

1.3.“User”, “you”, or “your”: means any individual or legal entity that accesses or uses the platform, including visitors, registered users, clients, and organizations.

1.4.“Lawyer”: means a licensed legal professional who registers on the platform to provide legal services to users.

1.5.“Services” means all services, tools, features, and functionalities made available through the Platform, including but not limited to artificial intelligence functionalities, legal research tools, document management systems, marketplace services, communication tools, and any related features provided by LegalSeek.

1.6.“AI Functionality” means any feature of the Services that uses machine learning, automated systems, or algorithmic processes to generate responses, suggestions, or outputs based on user inputs.

1.7.“Input”: means any information, data, text, documents, or materials submitted by a user to the Services and AI Functionality.

1.8.“Output”: means any information, response, or content generated by the Services and AI Functionality based on user input.

1.9.“Content”: means any information, text, documents, files, images, communications, or materials submitted, uploaded, or generated through the platform.

1.10.“User Content”: means any content uploaded, submitted, or transmitted by a user through the platform.

1.11.“Marketplace”: means the platform functionality that enables users to discover, connect with, and engage lawyers for appointment/consultation and legal services.

1.12.“Subscription”: means any paid plan or recurring service offered by LegalSeek that provides access to specific features or services.

1.13.“Fees”: means any charges, payments, subscriptions, commissions, or other amounts payable for use of the platform or services.

1.14.“Applicable Law”: means all laws, regulations, rules, and legal requirements that apply to a user based on their jurisdiction.

1.15.“Confidential Information”: means any non-public, sensitive, or proprietary information shared through the platform, including legal documents, case materials, and personal data.

 

  1. Introduction and Scope of Services

2.1.LegalSeek is a technology platform designed to provide tools and infrastructure supporting legal research, legal knowledge access, document preparation, case organization, and interaction between users and independent legal professionals.

2.2.The platform may include, among other features:

2.2.1.Artificial intelligence tools for legal information and document drafting

2.2.2.Legal research and legal knowledge databases

2.2.3.Case management and document organization tools

2.2.4.Appointment booking and communication tools between users and lawyers

2.2.5.Professional listings of licensed lawyers and legal professionals

2.2.6.Secure document storage and collaboration tools

2.2.7.Other digital services designed to support legal workflows

2.2.8.LegalSeek is not a law firm, legal consultancy, or provider of legal advice. The platform provides technological tools that facilitate access to legal information and connections between users and independent lawyers.

2.2.9.Any legal services offered through the platform are provided solely by independent lawyers and not by LegalSeek.

2.2.10.LegalSeek does not supervise, control, or direct the professional services provided by lawyers who use the platform.

 

  1. Acceptance of Terms

3.1.By accessing or using the LegalSeek platform, you confirm that you:

o     have read these Terms of Service

o     understand these Terms of Service

o     agree to comply with these Terms of Service

o     agree to comply with all related policies referenced in these Terms

3.2.These Terms apply to all users of the platform including:

o     visitors to the website

o     registered users

o     lawyers and legal professionals

o     organizations using the platform

3.3.LegalSeek may provide additional services or features subject to additional terms or policies. Where additional terms apply, those terms will form part of the agreement between you and LegalSeek.

3.4.If you are using LegalSeek on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

 

  1. Eligibility and Legal Capacity

4.1.You may access and use the LegalSeek platform only if you satisfy the following conditions.

o     You must be at least eighteen years of age or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.

o     You must have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under applicable law.

o     You must not be prohibited from using the platform under any applicable law or regulation.

o     LegalSeek may restrict access to the platform in certain jurisdictions if required by law or regulatory requirements.

o     If you access the platform from outside the jurisdiction where LegalSeek operates, you are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with applicable local laws.

o     LegalSeek reserves the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or restrict access where necessary to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

 

  1. Account Registration and Security

5.1.All features of the platform require users to create an account.

5.2.When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.

5.3.You agree to keep your account information updated so that it remains accurate and complete.

5.4.You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials including your password.

5.5.You agree not to share your login credentials with any other person.

5.6.You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not such activities are authorized by you.

5.7.If you believe that your account has been compromised or accessed without authorization, you must immediately notify LegalSeek.

5.8.LegalSeek is not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

5.9.LegalSeek reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information or that violate any of our Terms.

 

  1. User Responsibilities

6.1.Users of the platform must use the services responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws. By using the platform, you agree that you will:

o     Use the platform only for lawful purposes

o     Provide accurate information when using the platform

o     Respect the intellectual property rights of others

o     Ensure that you have the right to upload any content submitted to the platform

o     Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

6.2.Users must not use the platform to engage in activities that are illegal, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive.

o     Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:

o     Uploading content that violates intellectual property rights

o     Uploading confidential information without authorization

o     Distributing malware or harmful software

o     Attempting to interfere with platform operations

o     Accessing the platform through automated scraping tools

o     Impersonating other individuals or organizations

o     Using the platform to harass or threaten others

o     Attempting to gain unauthorized access to systems or data

6.3.LegalSeek reserves the right to investigate potential violations of these Terms and take appropriate enforcement actions including suspension or termination of accounts.

6.4.Additional Acceptable Use Policies may apply and form part of these Terms.

 

  1. Lawyer Participation and Professional Responsibilities

7.1.LegalSeek allows licensed lawyers and legal professionals to create profiles and offer legal services through the platform. Lawyers who participate in the platform must comply with the professional standards and responsibilities described in this section.

7.2.By registering as a lawyer on LegalSeek, you represent and warrant that:

o     You hold a valid license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction

o     Your professional license is active and in good standing

o     You are authorized to provide legal services in the jurisdictions where you offer services through the platform

o     You comply with all applicable professional regulations, ethical standards, and bar association rules in your jurisdiction

7.3.Lawyers are solely responsible for the legal services they provide to users through the platform.

7.4.LegalSeek does not supervise, direct, control, or monitor the professional legal services provided by lawyers.

7.5.The relationship between a lawyer and a user is strictly between those parties and does not involve LegalSeek as a provider of legal services.

7.6.Lawyers must ensure that all professional services offered through the platform comply with applicable laws and professional regulations.

7.7.Lawyers must maintain appropriate professional confidentiality and safeguard client information according to applicable legal standards.

7.8.Lawyers must not misrepresent their credentials, qualifications, or experience when presenting themselves on the platform.

7.9.LegalSeek reserves the right to request verification of professional licenses and credentials from lawyers using the platform.

7.10.LegalSeek may suspend or remove lawyer accounts that provide inaccurate credentials, violate professional obligations, or breach these Terms.

7.11.Lawyers acknowledge that they are independent professionals and are not employees, agents, or representatives of LegalSeek.

 

  1. No Legal Advice Provided by LegalSeek

8.1.LegalSeek provides technology tools and digital infrastructure designed to assist users in accessing legal information and connecting with independent legal professionals.

8.2.LegalSeek does not provide legal advice.

8.3.Information available through the platform, including AI-generated responses, legal resources, or informational materials, is provided solely for informational and educational purposes.

8.4.Such information should not be interpreted as legal advice or relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a licensed lawyer.

8.5.LegalSeek does not evaluate individual legal matters or provide legal opinions.

8.6.Users are responsible for consulting qualified legal professionals before making decisions related to legal matters.

8.7.LegalSeek disclaims any liability for decisions made by users based on information obtained through the platform.

 

  1. No Attorney Client Relationship with LegalSeek

9.1.Use of the LegalSeek platform does not create an attorney client relationship between LegalSeek and any user.

9.2.LegalSeek does not represent users in legal matters and does not act as a legal advisor.

9.3.Communications between users and lawyers through the platform may form part of a professional relationship between those parties, but LegalSeek is not a party to such relationships.

9.4.LegalSeek does not guarantee that communications conducted through the platform are protected by attorney client privilege.

9.5.The creation of an attorney client relationship between a user and a lawyer depends solely on agreements made between those parties.

9.6.LegalSeek does not participate in such agreements and is not responsible for the legal services provided.

 

  1. Artificial Intelligence Services and Limitations

10.1.LegalSeek may provide artificial intelligence tools designed to assist with legal research, document drafting, knowledge retrieval, and other informational purposes.

10.2.AI services operate by analyzing user inputs and generating outputs based on machine learning models and data processing systems.

10.3.AI-generated outputs are probabilistic in nature and may contain inaccuracies, incomplete information, or outdated legal references.

10.4.AI outputs should not be considered authoritative legal interpretations.

10.5.Users must exercise independent judgment when reviewing AI-generated content.

10.6.AI tools are intended to assist legal research and productivity but are not substitutes for professional legal analysis.

10.7.LegalSeek does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated outputs.

10.8.Users assume responsibility for verifying any information generated through AI services before relying on it.

10.9.LegalSeek may modify, improve, or discontinue AI services at any time.

10.10.AI systems may occasionally generate content that is inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate despite reasonable safeguards.

10.11.LegalSeek shall not be responsible for consequences arising from reliance on AI-generated outputs.

 

  1. AI Inputs, Outputs, and Data Usage

11.1.Users retain ownership of the information they submit to the platform as inputs.

11.2.By submitting inputs to AI services, users grant LegalSeek a limited license to process such inputs for the purpose of generating outputs and operating the platform.

11.3.LegalSeek may process user inputs using automated systems in order to provide AI services.

11.4.Subject to applicable privacy policies, LegalSeek may analyze aggregated or anonymized data to improve the performance and functionality of its services.

11.5.Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the legal right to submit any information or documents provided to the platform.

11.6.Users should not submit highly sensitive or confidential information unless they are authorized to do so.

11.7.LegalSeek does not claim ownership over user inputs or user-generated content.

 

  1. Enforcement of Acceptable Use Rules

12.1.LegalSeek may monitor use of the platform to ensure compliance with these Terms and applicable laws.

12.2.LegalSeek may investigate suspected violations of these Terms.

12.3.If LegalSeek determines that a user has violated these Terms, LegalSeek may take enforcement actions including:

o     issuing warnings

o     restricting access to certain features

o     suspending accounts

o     terminating accounts

o     removing content from the platform

12.4.LegalSeek may cooperate with law enforcement authorities when required by law.

12.5.LegalSeek reserves the right to take appropriate action to protect the platform, its users, and the public from harmful activities.

 

  1. Intellectual Property Rights

13.1.All rights, title, and interest in and to the LegalSeek platform, including its software, artificial intelligence systems, databases, design, trademarks, logos, branding, and underlying technology, are owned by LegalSeek or its licensors.

13.2.These rights are protected by applicable intellectual property laws and international treaties.

13.3.Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the platform solely for its intended purposes in accordance with these Terms.

13.4.Users must not:

o     copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any part of the platform without authorization

o     modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
use LegalSeek branding, logos, or trademarks without prior written consent

o     create derivative works based on the platform or its content

13.5.Any unauthorized use of LegalSeek intellectual property may result in legal action.

 

  1. User Content and License Grant

14.1.Users retain ownership of any content they upload, submit, or transmit through the platform.

14.2.By submitting content to LegalSeek, users grant LegalSeek a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

o     host and store the content

o     process and analyze the content

o     display the content within the platform

o     use the content to provide and improve services

14.3.This license is granted solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving the platform.

14.4.Users represent and warrant that:

o     they have the legal right to upload and share such content

o     the content does not violate any intellectual property rights

o     the content does not violate any applicable laws

14.5.LegalSeek reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms or applicable laws.

 

  1. Marketplace and Appointment Services

15.1.LegalSeek provides a marketplace that enables users to discover, connect with, and engage independent lawyers.

15.2.LegalSeek acts solely as a technology platform facilitating connections between users and lawyers.

15.3.LegalSeek does not:

o     provide legal services

o     act as a representative of any lawyer

o     guarantee the quality, accuracy, or outcome of legal services

o     supervise or control the professional activities of lawyers

15.4.Users are responsible for evaluating the qualifications and suitability of lawyers before engaging their services.

15.5.Lawyers are responsible for defining the scope, terms, and pricing of their services, subject to applicable laws and platform policies.

15.6.Any agreement for legal services is made directly between the user and the lawyer.

15.7.LegalSeek is not a party to such agreements.

15.8.LegalSeek shall not be responsible for:

o     disputes between users and lawyers

o     legal advice provided by lawyers

o     outcomes of legal services

15.9.LegalSeek may provide tools to facilitate communication, scheduling, and payments, but does not control or guarantee interactions between users and lawyers.

 

16.                Payments, Billing, and Subscriptions

16.1.                Certain features of the platform may require payment of fees.

16.2.                Users agree to pay all applicable fees associated with their use of the platform.

16.3.                Fees may include:

o     subscription fees

o     service fees

o     transaction fees

o     commission charges

16.4.                Users must provide accurate billing information and maintain valid payment methods.

16.5.                 Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.

16.6.                By making a payment, users agree to comply with the terms and conditions of the applicable payment provider.

16.7.                LegalSeek is not responsible for errors or failures caused by third-party payment systems.

16.8.                Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.

16.9.                Users are responsible for managing their subscriptions and cancelling services if they no longer wish to continue.

16.10.                LegalSeek reserves the right to modify pricing at any time, with reasonable notice to users.

16.11.                Failure to pay fees may result in:

o     suspension of services

o     restriction of access

o      termination of accounts


  1. Refunds and Cancellations

17.1.Refunds and cancellations are governed by the LegalSeek Payment and Refund Policy.

17.2.Unless otherwise required by applicable law:

o     Subscription fees may be non-refundable

o     Partially used services may not be eligible for refunds

o     Payments made to lawyers may be subject to separate agreements between users and lawyers

17.3.Users are responsible for reviewing refund terms before making payments.

17.4.LegalSeek may, at its discretion, provide refunds in specific circumstances.

17.5.LegalSeek is not responsible for refund disputes between users and lawyers unless otherwise specified.


  1. Privacy and Data Processing

18.1.LegalSeek collects, processes, and stores personal data in accordance with its Privacy and Data Protection Policy.

18.2.By using the platform, users consent to such data processing as described in the Privacy Policy.

18.3.Users acknowledge that:

o     the platform may process personal and sensitive information

o     uploaded documents may contain confidential data

o     data may be processed using automated systems including AI

18.4.Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the legal right to upload and share any personal or confidential information.

18.5.LegalSeek implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, but does not guarantee absolute security.

18.6.Users should exercise caution when uploading sensitive information.

 

  1. Platform Availability and Modifications

19.1.LegalSeek will use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and performance of the platform on a continuous basis. However, LegalSeek does not guarantee uninterrupted access and shall not be liable for any interruption, delay, downtime, or unavailability of the platform, and does not guarantee any minimum uptime or service availability level. Availability may be affected by maintenance, technical issues, third-party service disruptions, or factors beyond LegalSeek’s control.

19.2.LegalSeek may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice:

o     modify, update, or improve any part of the platform

o     add or remove features or functionalities

o     suspend or discontinue services temporarily or permanently

o     perform maintenance or upgrades that may affect availability

19.3.Users acknowledge that the platform may be affected by:

o     technical issues

o     maintenance activities

o     third-party service disruptions

o     network or infrastructure failures

19.4.LegalSeek reserves the right to make changes to the platform to improve performance, security, or compliance with legal requirements.

 

  1. Suspension and Termination of Accounts

20.1.LegalSeek reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, if it determines that:

o     a user has violated these Terms

o     a user has engaged in unlawful or harmful conduct

o     a user has provided false or misleading information

o     continued access poses a risk to the platform or other users

20.2.LegalSeek may also suspend or terminate accounts to comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

20.3.Users may terminate their account at any time by discontinuing use of the platform or following account closure procedures.

20.4.Upon termination:

o     access to the platform may be immediately revoked

o     user content may be deleted or retained in accordance with legal requirements

o     certain obligations under these Terms will continue to apply

20.5.LegalSeek shall not be liable for any loss resulting from suspension or termination of accounts.

 

21.                Disclaimer of Warranties

21.1.                The LegalSeek platform and all associated services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

21.2.                To the maximum extent permitted by law, LegalSeek disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

o     warranties of merchantability

o     fitness for a particular purpose

o     non-infringement

o     accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content

o     uninterrupted or error-free operation

21.3.                LegalSeek does not warrant that:

o     the platform will meet user expectations

o     the platform will be available at all times

o     AI-generated outputs will be accurate or reliable

o     legal services provided by lawyers will meet any specific outcome

21.4.                Users acknowledge that use of the platform is at their own risk.

 

  1. Limitation of Liability

22.1.To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LegalSeek shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

22.2.This includes, but is not limited to:

o     loss of profits

o     loss of business opportunities

o     loss of data

o     reputational damage

o     legal outcomes based on platform use

22.3.LegalSeek shall not be liable for:

o     actions or omissions of lawyers

o     decisions made based on AI-generated outputs

o     disputes between users and lawyers

o     unauthorized access to user accounts

o     technical failures or interruptions

22.4.In no event shall LegalSeek’s total liability exceed the total amount paid by the user to LegalSeek during the twelve months preceding the claim.

22.5.If no payments have been made, liability shall be limited to a nominal amount as permitted by law.

22.6.Some jurisdictions may not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply in such jurisdictions.

 

  1. Indemnification

23.1.Users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LegalSeek and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from:

o     violation of these Terms

o     misuse of the platform

o     infringement of intellectual property rights

o     unlawful or unauthorized content uploads

o     interactions between users and lawyers

23.2.This obligation includes the payment of reasonable legal fees and costs incurred by LegalSeek.

23.3.LegalSeek reserves the right to assume control of the defense of any claim subject to indemnification.

23.4.Users agree to cooperate fully in the defense of such claims.

 

  1. Force Majeure

24.1.LegalSeek shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from events beyond its reasonable control.

24.2.Such events may include, but are not limited to:

o     natural disasters

o     acts of government or regulatory authorities

o     war, conflict, or civil unrest

o     cyber attacks or security breaches

o     internet or telecommunications failures

o     power outages

o     pandemics or public health emergencies

24.3.During such events, LegalSeek’s obligations under these Terms may be suspended.

24.4.LegalSeek will make reasonable efforts to resume normal operations as soon as practicable.

 

  1. International Use and Regulatory Compliance

25.1.LegalSeek operates as a global technology platform and may be accessed from multiple jurisdictions.

25.2.Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the platform complies with all applicable local laws, regulations, and professional requirements in their jurisdiction.

25.3.LegalSeek does not represent or warrant that:

o     the platform is appropriate or available in all jurisdictions

o     the use of the platform complies with all local laws

o     the services are permitted in every country

25.4.Users who access the platform from jurisdictions where such use is restricted or prohibited do so at their own risk.

25.5.Lawyers using the platform must ensure that their provision of legal services complies with:

o     local licensing requirements

o     cross-border legal practice regulations

o     professional conduct rules

25.6.                LegalSeek reserves the right to restrict access to the platform in certain regions where required by law or regulatory authorities.

25.7.                LegalSeek does not verify whether AI outputs comply with specific jurisdictional legal requirements.

 

  1. Governing Law

26.1.These Terms of Service, and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the platform, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre.

26.2.This governing law applies regardless of conflict of law principles.

26.3.Where mandatory laws of a user's jurisdiction apply and cannot be excluded, those laws shall prevail only to the extent required.

 

27.                Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

27.1.                Good Faith Resolution: In the event of any dispute, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through good faith negotiations. Users must contact LegalSeek and provide reasonable details of the dispute before initiating formal proceedings.

27.2.                Binding Arbitration: If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it shall be finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Dubai International Arbitration Centre. Arbitration shall be conducted in accordance with the applicable rules of the arbitration center.

27.3.                Seat and Language

o     The seat of arbitration shall be Dubai, United Arab Emirates

o     The language of arbitration shall be English

27.4                Individual Claims Only (Class Action Waiver)

27.4.1                To the maximum extent permitted by law:

o     disputes must be brought on an individual basis

o     users waive the right to participate in class actions, collective actions, or

o     representative proceedings

o     no arbitration shall be combined with another without LegalSeek’s consent

27.4.2                This provision is intended to reduce the complexity and risk of large-scale litigation.

 

27.5                 Limited Court Jurisdiction

Nothing in this section prevents LegalSeek from seeking:

o     injunctive relief

o     enforcement of intellectual property rights

o     enforcement of arbitration awards

in courts of competent jurisdiction, including the DIFC, Dubai, UAE Courts.

 

  1. Changes to Terms

28.1.LegalSeek reserves the right to modify or update these Terms of Service at any time.

28.2.Updated Terms will be posted on the platform with a revised effective date.

28.3.Users may be notified of significant changes through:

o     Email

o     platform notifications

o     website announcements

28.4.Continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

28.5.If a user does not agree to the updated Terms, they must discontinue use of the platform.

 

  1. Communications and Electronic Notices

29.1.By using the platform, users agree to receive communications from LegalSeek electronically.

29.2.Such communications may include service notifications, legal notices, updates to policies and transactional messages

29.3.Communications may be delivered via email, in-platform notifications and website postings

29.4.Electronic communications shall be considered legally valid and binding.

29.5.Users are responsible for keeping their contact information up to date.

 

  1. Assignment and Transfer

30.1.Users may not assign or transfer their rights or obligations under these Terms without prior written consent from LegalSeek.

30.2.LegalSeek may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms to:

o     Affiliates

o     Subsidiaries

o     Successors

o     acquirers

without restriction.

30.3.These Terms shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.

 

  1. Severability

31.1.If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary.

31.2.The remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

 

  1. Entire Agreement

32.1.These Terms of Service, together with any referenced policies, constitute the entire agreement between the user and LegalSeek regarding use of the platform.
